    RECENT CONSULTING ACTIVITIES

     

    I currently serve as staff consultant to the firm Ragland Aderman and Associates, Baton Rouge , LA. I have been involved with the firm, or its predecessor, since August 1973. I typically work 10-to-15 hours per week analyzing and designing a variety of structures. Representative recently completed or ongoing projects include:

    • Structural design of marine dock at Convent (ongoing).
    • Investigation of excessive vibrations in a marine dock located in Convent, LA; design of a structure to isolate operator's cab from vibrations (ongoing).
    • Analysis of deteriorated reinforced concrete frame supporting heavy coker drums at the Exxon Refinery, Baton Rouge, LA (ongoing).
    • Structural design of hospital addition in Lafayette, LA (2013-2014).

    • Wachmeister Faculty Development Leave, Spring Semester 2005. Spent two days a week at Va Tech and two days a week at VTRC researching prestressed concrete applications for highway bridges. This was a continuation of a project funded by VTRC during summer 2005.
